It's early morning--the clock shows 4:23 AM right now. The timing was planned, but waking up in a cold sweat because of a disturbing dream was not on my agenda.
The dream gives further proof to my observation that our conscious and subconscious minds play games that are unpredictable and creative. My near-to-last thoughts as I drifted into sleep last night were about the public speaking topic I intended to write about this morning, and in the moments just before I awoke I found myself scrambling and sweating and failing before an unappreciative audience.
Maybe you've been there--that is, in front of an upset audience. Maybe not.
Either way, these four simple steps will help you the next time you're called on to speak before a crowd.
